Portlaoise pair picked

TWO girls from Portlaoise RFC were swept off their feet on Saturday afternoon by the scout from the Irish Women's Rugby International Sevens squad.

Eimear Corri and Anna O'Neill had travelled to Ashbourne with their team-mates to play an exhibition game, organised by Youth Co-ordinator Harry Nicholls, against Wicklow during the interval of the Women's Interprovincial Championship final in which Munster beat defending champions Leinster 15-12.

However, another drama was played out off the pitch when the pair were approached by the Sevens scout and asked to join the development squad for the Irish Women's International Sevens.
