SIMON EASTERBY'S mercurial Scarlets are capable of sublime rugby one game, absolute dross the next. They are the rugby definition of inconsistent.
The Scarlets v Ulster, Parc Y Scarlets, Tomorrow (KO 6.30)
They have won just once at home since April, losing three and drawing one, and have lost out to the Irish provinces in their last three tussles.
This will be of little or no interest to Ulster as they seem more concerned with what they do to others rather than what is done to them.
They will be hurt by the loss of their captain Johann Muller to injury and the host of Ireland internationals.
However, they depend on their overseas signings more than any other Irish province.
Ulster are also on a roll of six games unbeaten and have match winners in Ruan Pienaar and Jared Payne (inset), who is the clear favourite to succeed Brian O'Driscoll at thirteen for Ireland next season.
However, there is a steady stream of talent emerging out of Scarlets Academy and they may be able to unleash some of them tomorrow.
