Munster to scare English

MUNSTER hold something of a hoodoo over the heads of their English foes.

They have won the last three Heineken Cup matches between the clubs.

The Cherry and Whites share with Leinster the best tackle success rate (91pc) in the competition and have gathered in the number one line-out rate (90pc).

This is where Paul O'Connell comes into the equation.

He has played just eight times for Munster this season, making all four Heineken Cup rounds.

The Ireland captain's unique skill to hone in on opposition ball can turn this Gloucester area of strength into a weakness, thereby eroding their confidence.

Rob Penney is reportedly on the verge of signing a contract extension as Munster sit at the top of the PRO12 League and Pool 6 in Europe.

This would just about nail down Penney's contract issue, and a win would seal Munster's qualification for the quarter-finals with a home tie against Edinburgh to come.
