Leinster are in a race against the clock to get Wallaby second row Kane Douglas to Dublin and have him ready for the first round of the inaugural European Champions Rugby Cup.

"That is ongoing," said coach Matt O'Connor. "We are talking to Kane's advisors and the ARU (Australian Rugby Union) and, hopefully, he will be here to start our European campaign."

The same goes for South Sydney Rugby League sensation Ben Te'o, who still has three more rounds to go through in the National Rugby League regular season which culminates on September 4.

Te'o previously played the Union code at inside and outside centre, putting him in the frame to succeed Brian O'Driscoll at Leinster.

The problem for Leinster is that the Rabbitohs are riding high in second place of The Premiership with a four-week, post-season play-off scenario that will conclude with 'The Grand Final' on October 5th - should South Sydney go the whole way.

This comes a day after Leinster and Munster meet in the PRO12 at the Aviva and two weeks before the Champions Cup starter against London Wasps.
