Keatley key for Connacht

AMLIN CHALLENGE CUP:

Connacht v Harlequins, The Sportsground, tonight (LIVE SKY SPORTS 3, KO 7.0)

This little disagreement will all hinge around Connacht coach Eric Elwood's selection process because there were times when his side split Harlequins wide open at The Stoop.

Connacht threatened to do more damage than they delivered in the 20-9 defeat, making enough clean breaks to have won the game.

The move of Ian Keatley into the outside centre slot, a la James Hook at the Ospreys, has given The Westerners better distribution and creativity in the outside channels.

It looks like it could be a solid long-term option, if Keatley extends his contract.

A bonus-point win for the home side would make their January date in Bayonne an interesting proposition, even though there does appear to be a stronger emphasis on the Magners this season.

Verdict: Connacht
