Ioane eyeing up English wingers

AUSTRALIA wrecking ball Digby Ioane is relishing the chance to launch his comeback against England's "pretty" wingers.

IOANE will line up opposite Chris Ashton in Saturday's Cook Cup showdown at Twickenham with either Charlie Sharples or Ugo Monye occupying the left wing.

The destructive 27-year-old has been carrying a knee problem that forced him to miss the Wallabies' last two matches, but is ready to excel on his return.

"The England wingers are pretty, really good looking. I just can't wait to go against them," he said.

Welsh braced for Carter

Wales have been braced for an appointment with a "once-in-a-generation player" when they tackle world champions New Zealand next week.

While a dangerous Samoa side are next on Wales' autumn agenda on Friday, the All Blacks are looming.

And fly-half Dan Carter's inspired display in the 51-22 drubbing of Scotland on Sunday has drawn lavish praise from Wales' defence coach Shaun Edwards.

"He is a once-in-a-generation player, isn't he?" Edwards said. "It's like watching Lionel Messi play football. I just hope he doesn't play too good against us."
