Hurley to face a testing time

The Scarlets v Munster

Parc Y Scarlets, Tonight 6.30 RTE2

The one-year contract extension of Duncan Williams has been overshadowed by international concerns as Simon Zebo and Donnacha Ryan push their Ireland cases, writes Des Berry.

Coach Rob Penney has made eight changes for this one, with Denis Hurley's limited game knowledge at inside centre sure to be tested by England's Olly Barkley and Wales' Jonathan Davies in a late bid to play against England next week.

"Olly brings a wealth of experience to their inside backs combination. He's a very talented player and they'll be difficult over there," said Penney.

"They are lively and they're very aggressive. It's something that we need to be really cognisant of and try to combat that because it's a big part of their game and they have destroyed a few packs".

The trick is to starve The Scarlets of the ball they need to activate their three-quarters. The presence of Ryan, Donncha O'Callaghan and captain James Coughlan can make this happen.

The Scarlets: J Williams; K Phillips, J Davies, O Barkley, F Climo; A Thomas, G Davies; P John, E Phillips, S Lee, G Earle, J Snyman, J Turnbull, J Barclay, R McCusker (capt).

Munster: S Zebo; G van den Heever, C Laulala, D Hurley, J Murphy; I Keatley, D Williams; D Kilcoyne, D Casey, S Archer, D O'Callaghan, D Ryan, CJ Stander, T O'Donnell, J Coughlan (capt).
