Tymon park was the venue for a four-school blitz targeting players born in 1999 or 2000. The four schools who took part were Tallaght Community School, Holy Family, Rathcoole, Firhouse Community College and Coláiste Chiaráin, Leixlip.
The day was run on a round robin basis with each match lasting 10 minutes in a 15-a-side game. Coláiste Chiaráin and Holy Family ended the day unbeaten with wins and a draw after an even match between the two schools. This was Coláiste Chiaráin's first outing in competitive rugby and it was a very successful day for the Leixlip school.
The annual South Dublin Cup will begin in the new year and if this day was anything to go by, it will be a very exciting competition.
All the schools who attended here will be hoping to win some silverware and like in 2012 a possible place in the Tallaght stadium finals day.
