Hat-trick for Port'

PORTLAOISE RFC youth teams had a hat-trick of successes over the weekend. The U-14 squad defeated Cill Dara RFC U-16 in the Area League Final, adding to the Leinster Premier League which they won three weeks' prior.

The U-15 squad travelled to Cill Dara RRC to take on Clane RFC U-15s and came away victorious. Then on Sunday, to complete the hat-trick of victories, the U-13 squad travelled to Edenderry RFC to play Tullamore RFC in the Leinster U-13 Premier League final. It was the first of three finals they have qualified for and, after an even and hard-fought contest, came away with the narrowest of victories, winning 8-7.

On Saturday the U-18 Youth Girls travelled to participate in the Leinster Girls' U-18 Cup Blitz.

Having come through their group undefeated, they came up against the 2013 Leinster U-18 Girls league champions Wicklow, and were very unlucky to lose by one try to nil.

Well done to all and a big thank you to all the coaches and helpers who give up their time during the week and at weekends.

More importantly a big thank you to the parents who bring the players to training, matches and travel all over Leinster to support the teams.
