Enniscorthy's Minis have a big night at the RDS and get to meet Leo ... and Leo!

On Saturday February 20, shortly after their weekly training session, Enniscorthy Rugby Club's Minis set out for the trip to the RDS to watch the Magners League match between Leinster and Llanelli Scarlets.

One hundred and five Mini players from U7s to U12s, accompanied by more than 20 coaches and parents, enjoyed the night out to see the stars of Leinster Rugby. To rapturous support from them all, Leinster enjoyed an impressive win with a man-of-the-match performance from Jonathan Sexton.

After the game, there was an impromptu pitch invasion by the Enniscorthy Minis as the children had their picture taken on the hallowed turf with Leo the Lion. Further excitement followed as another Leo, Leinster captain Leo Cullen, emerged to meet the young supporters. He patiently posed for photos and signed autographs for everyone on programmes, tickets, balls or anything that was offered.

Larry Mackey, Mini co-ordinator for Enniscorthy RFC, commented: "The lads came home tired but thoroughly delighted with the trip. We are already planning our next one."

He went on to thank all at Leinster Rugby for their help in organising a most enjoyable evening.
