Ulster man-of-the-match Jean Deysel hailed his new team-mates and the Kingspan Stadium crowd after Ulster raced away from the Cheetahs to record a 42-14 opening day Guinness PRO 14 win.

"They made it so much easier as a team," said the summer Munster capture as Les Kiss' side cast aside their dismal pre-season to wrap up the bonus-point win by the 33rd minute.

"We worked hard on our individual skills. This was my first league game and it was phenomenal.

"It was a collective effort, we made a lot of mistakes in the warm-ups but we sharpened up our skills this week.

"We wanted to have fun this week and it showed well. We tried different combinations in pre-season and some stuff came together. We have freedom from the coaches to play what is in front of us."

Munster encountered little difficulty in maintaining their 100% home winning record against the Treviso outfit as they got the new PRO14 competition off to a flying start at Irish Independent Park.

Munster, leading by 27-3 at the interval, looked sharp on the opening night of the season but won't be getting carried away with a win over an Italian side who show no sign of improving on the slackness of the last few years.
