Coolmine blitz is just the start of things to come in Fingal

Coolmine RFC was the venue recently for a hugely successful U14 and U16 Sevens and 15-a-side blitz, which was attended by St Peter & Paul's (Dunboyne), Hartstown CC (Blanchardstown) and Portmarnock CS.

The U14 teams were introduced to sevens rugby with great success. Each team played around seven matches and the enjoyment of the format was clear to see.

The U16 teams played 15-a-side blitz matches, with all three teams playing four matches. All the matches were closely fought and some great skills and rugby were on display. The event was just the start of great things to come in Fingal this season. Next month a greater Fingal sevens competition for U13/14, U15/16 and U17/18s is being arranged. Please contact your local clubs Youth Co-ordinator for details.

On hand to help with the arrangements and refereeing was Coolmine RFC YDO Richie Perkins and Leinster Rugby's Jack Hanratty, and the event was organised by Leinster CRO Christian Stemmet. Should you require further information on developing youth sevens rugby contact Christian on 087 911 8642.
