Clondalkin ladies team up with William Cox

Two outfits who will play a significant role in the future of Irish rugby and Leinster rugby joined forces recently.

Clondalkin RFC, who are beginning to make serious waves in the Leinster League, in women's rugby and at underage level, and William Cox, the company that have constructed the roof for the new Aviva Stadium, have formed a unique partnership.

William Cox have become the official sponsors of Clondalkin's first ever ladies team, who make a club debut in the upcoming Kinsale sevens, and provided the jerseys the side have worn in their inaugural league campaign.

Club president Terry Woodhead enthused: "We are delighted to have support from William Cox's in what is a historic year for the ladies team. They are steeped in rugby having constructed the roof for Croke Park and Lansdowne Road. They also sponsor Ulster and have played their part in making Irish rugby the success that it is. Clondalkin likewise have had great success lately.

"We have had the U18 Leinster winners recently and competed in the All-Ireland final. We won our first Spencer Cup and promotion to Division 2. After three teams last year we are fielding four this year plus the women's team, so we are delighted to have a successful company like William Cox's as our sponsor as we make progress."
