COACH Joe Schmidt brings in scrum-half Isaac Boss and flanker Shane Jennings to tackle his former club Clermont-Auvergne in the Heineken Cup semi-final at Stade Chaban Delmas in Bordeaux on Sunday.
The clear message is that Schmidt wants the aggressive Boss to confront Clermont around the edges and he sees Jennings as the grease for the wheels outside as well as a defensive leader.
Schmidt goes for the same 22 that dismantled Cardiff in the quarter-final, placing a different emphasis on what is required from his bench.
Meanwhile, captain Aurelien Rougerie has thrown down the gauntlet to Leinster by claiming Clermont “can’t lose” if the attitude is right.
“I think that if all my partners are ready at the same moment, I think, as a team we can’t lose. I feel that,” he said.
