AUSTRALIA have made seven changes for Friday's Pool C clash with the USA in Wellington as they seek to bounce back from their loss to Ireland.
The Wallabies were beaten 15-6 in Auckland last Saturday and will aim to get back on course at the Wellington Regional Stadium.
Five changes come in the pack, with James Slipper called up to start at loosehead prop, Rob Simmons and Nathan Sharpe at second row, Ben McCalman at flanker and Wycliff Palu at No8.
Drew Mitchell replaces James O'Connor on the wing, with Rob Horne in at inside centre.
The omission of captain James Horwill means Will Genia will lead the side for the first time.
It is Australia's second youngest World Cup starting line-up, with an average age of 25 years and 136 days.
Welsh sweat over Lydiate
Wales have confirmed that centre Dan Lydiate suffered ankle ligament damage during the World Cup Pool D victory over Samoa in Hamilton last Sunday.
The Wales medical team say they will wait for the injury to settle before determining how long he will be sidelined.
Meanwhile, full-back James Hook will be reassessed after damaging the AC joint in his shoulder against Samoa.
