Athboy seek senior players

ATHBOY RFC, a progressive junior club based in Co Meath, are looking for senior players to join for the coming season.

The senior XV have been very successful over the last four seasons, reaching four North-East League finals and winning two. They also reached the quarter-finals and semi-finals of the Anderson Cup (J3) and Dunne Cup (J4) respectively.

Next season, the first XV will be the newest members of Leinster League Division 3, and the club's objective is to field a second XV in the north-east's Magee Cup. Athboy have a strong panel of players but are hoping to add to it.

Next season, the club have retained the services of head coach Len Ethell. Len has spent most of his coaching career at Mullingar RFC. His first involvement in coaching at adult level was as assistant to Ireland coach Joe Schmidt during his time as Mullingar's head coach.

The senior panel will start training in the last week of July and are looking forward to seeing many new faces.

Training times will be posted on Facebook, Twitter and on the club's website at www.pitchero.com/clubs/athboyrugbyclub/.
