Pearce wary of Daryl's goal threat

READING captain Alex Pearce will be on alert against his Ireland team-mate Daryl Murphy (pictured) when the Royals clash with Ipswich Town today.

With 21 league goals, Murphy is the leading scorer in the Championship and Pearce, who started for Ireland alongside Murphy in the last international, against the USA, is wary.

"We all know how well Daryl has done this year. He's a real handful for this league and we'll have to be on top of our games to handle him," says Pearce.

Ipswich will be without Ireland cap Noel Hunt today and for the rest of the season as he's ruled out with a knee injury. "It was a nasty injury and he will be out for a while," Ipswich boss Mick McCarthy said of Hunt, who has scored three goals in 13 games.
