World volleyballers fly in to ALSAA for Aer Lingus

As part of its 30th Anniversary the Aer Lingus Volleyball Club are hosting a World Airlines Tournament in the ALSAA, Dublin Airport on May 22 to 23.

Over 240 players from 24 teams who are traveling from as far away as Australia, Hong Kong and Dubai as well as from Amsterdam, Cologne, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Paris, Lisbon, London, Nice, Poland, Zurich, Vienna will be in action along with six Irish teams.

Aer Lingus previously hosted this international tournament in 1987 and again in 2004.

Opening the weekend's play is a Masters Over 40 tournament on Friday evening with the main action taking place on Saturday.

The tournament is dedicated to the memory of Vanessa Siatka, the two-year-old daughter of Aer Lingus player Lukasz Siatka, who died after a hit-and-run incident in the Phoenix Park on Easter weekend.

Entry is free and spectators welcome.
