After the huge success of the UFC event in Dublin in July, 2014, they have announced a new show for this October.

After the bad news late last night from Las Vegas that Jsoe Aldo has been forced to pull out of his title bout with Conor McGregor due to a rib injury, Irish MMA fans have received a boost after the UFC announced a Dublin event for October 24 at the 3 Arena.

No fights have been confirmed or lined up for the night, but given that The Notorious will still be in action against  Chad Mendes later this month, it is unlikely that he will feature.

However, other Irish fighters in the UFC such as Cathal Pendred, Neil Seery, Paddy Holohan and Joseph Duffy are all likely to be involved.

Conor McGregor became a household name last July when  he knocked out Diego Brandau at the 3 Arena in front of a bumper crowd.

He declared afterwards: "We're not here to take part, we're here to take over."
