THE fourth annual Bernard Dunne Charities Celebrity Soccer Classic will take place in Tallaght Stadium on Saturday.
In the past Bernard has run this event for the likes of Pieta House, the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association and CASA – raising much-needed awareness and in excess of €250,000 in the process.
This year's festivities will kick off from 12.30pm and all proceeds will go to Make-A-Wish Ireland and Irish Dogs for the Disabled.
Four local children's teams will compete for the Bernard Dunne Charities Cup before the main game, which kicks off at 2pm.
Dublin radio station 98FM will broadcast live from the ground on a day of family fun which will also include bouncy castles, clowns, face painters and lots of free goodies and refreshments.
Players confirmed so far include Katie and Pete Taylor, Ray Houghton, Ronnie Whelan, Paul McGrath and Niall Quinn.
The opposition this year will be the record-breaking Shamrock Rovers team that won four league titles in a row in the 1980s. It will include League of Ireland greats Mick Byrne, Pat Byrne, Liam O'Brien, Peter Eccles and many more.
Entry is €5 per person.
