Rebels in town for Inters

GOLF: Portmarnock hosts the 51st National Inter-County Gents Championship tomorrow. The first one was at Ierne in 1951.

Cork are bidding for their ninth successive Anchor Cup. If they return to harbour with the claret jug, it will be their 18th.

Dublin have won 16 times. The two counties could once again dominate the leaderboard.

It's the third occasion that Portmarnock have staged the event. Dublin took gold in 1963, while Cork prevailed in 1975.

Cork will carry the favourite's burden. They contain many national champions. The action begins at 9am, with Dublin and Cork teeing off together at 10.40am.
