Former Irish national amateur champion Carl Frampton remains unbeaten in his professional career.

He's at 16-0 going into defend his European super-bantamweight title tonight in front of a packed Odyssey Arena in Belfast tonight.

This will be Frampton's first title defence. His opponent, 26-year-old Frenchman Jeremy Parodi, has been beaten just once in 36 fights and has never taken a count.

Frampton's punching power doesn't faze Parodi, who's ranked just one place below the Belfast man by the IBF. "I will outbox Frampton," he predicts.

But Frampton, who's knocked-out 11 of his challengers, including Kiko Martinez and Steve Molitor, is strong on self-belief. "I always believed I was going to be a world champion," he says.

Another win tonight should put Frampton in pole position to contest the IBF world title, currently held by Kiko Martinez, who Frampton beat in February.

Martinez is set to meet mandatory challenger Jeffrey Mathebula and Frampton is eagerly eyeing a shot at the winner. "I beat a world champion," he says. "And I'll be the number one after this fight."
