Officers strike an optimistic note at AGM

HAPPY MAN -- Dublin pitch and putt chairman Christy Broe. He was delighted with the success of this week's Dublin AGM at the Sports HQ.

The gathering extended to extra-time and penalties. Delegates debated for three and a half hours. The mood in the room was positive. And there's plenty of optimism as the new season approaches.

"2009 was a good one for pitch and putt in Dublin and I'd like to thank everybody for their efforts in making it so," commented Christy.

Those present heard comprehensive reports from the officers. Competition secretary Joe Flanagan had good news. Interest in the tournaments is on the up. League secretary Breda Boyle also brought joyful tidings. The leagues are as popular as ever and, with some minor adjustments, they will be even more so this term.

PRO Keith Redmond revealed that the Dublin website is a big hit; there was a warm welcome on board for new treasurer Marise Carroll.
