O'Brien gears up for Elite gold after linking up with Cork crew

Paudi O'Brien has come the full circle from Kanturk Cycling club and back to the Dan Morrissey/Speedy Spokes outfit in Cork.

In between he has been involved at many clubs. But an offer from Timmy Barry was one that he could not turn down.

"I have been around the block when it comes to cycling. I have been successful at all levels, winning All-Ireland titles from underage right up to the present day. But the one title that has eluded me is the Elite All-Ireland Road Race Championship," said Paidi.

"Maybe 2012 could be my year. Timmy has formed a new club in Cork. Timmy has laid out a good programme for the season. I am keen as mustard for the year ahead."
