NOVAK DJOKOVIC took just 61 minutes to brush aside Andrey Golubev and reach the quarter-finals of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships.
Djokovic, a four-time winner of the tournament, did not offer his opponent any chance to break and completed his 6-1 6-2 win in just over an hour.
He will now face Turkish qualifier Marsel Ilhan, who shocked sixth seed Feliciano Lopez with a 3-6 7-5 6-3 win on Court Three.
Third seed Andy Murray took even less time to book his place in the last eight with a comprehensive win over Portuguese world number 50 Joao Sousa.
The Scot opened up proceedings on Centre Court and took just 57 minutes to beat Sousa 6-0 6-2 and set up a last-eight meeting with Croatian teenager Borna Coric, who progressed after Marcos Baghdatis retired with cramp in a final set tie-break after almost three hours on court.
Murray remains on course for a semi-final clash against Roger Federer after the Swiss overcame a tricky tie against Fernando Verdasco in straight sets. Federer progressed to a quarter-final meeting against Richard Gasquet thanks to a 6-4 6-3 win over Spain's Verdasco.
