Munster fall to Glasgow

RUGBY: Replacement Gordon Reid grabbed a decisive second-half try 
as Glasgow Warriors edged past Munster 
16-15 to reach their first ever RaboDirect PRO12 Final.

The Munstermen had scored tries through Damien Varley and Sean Dougall while Ian Keatley added a conversion and a penalty.

But Warriors were 9-7 up at the break and the boot of Glasgow fly-half Finn Russell carried them through at Scotstoun.

He fired over three ­penalties before ­converting Reid’s try.

Harrington in mix at Nelson

Golf: Dubliner Pádraig Harrington will be happy with his opening rounds at the HP Byron Nelson Championship as he reached the clubhouse just two shots off the lead after his second round.

The three-time major winner’s back-to-back 68s left him four under at the cut and well-placed among a leading pack featuring recent Players Championship winner Martin Kaymer.

Bouhanni on top in Foglino

CYCLING: Frenchman Nacer Bouhanni claimed his second win in this year’s Giro d’Italia when he edged a mass sprint at the end of the 214-km seventh stage to Foligno yesterday.

Australian Michael Matthews stayed clear of trouble to finish safely in the pack and retain his 21-second overall leadfrom compatriot Cadel Evans ahead of the first mountain stage today.
