Moore enjoys Vegas victory

RYAN MOORE ended a three-year wait for his second title on the PGA Tour by holding off Zimbabwean Brendon de Jonge to take a one-shot victory at the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open.

THE 30-year-old Las Vegas resident scooped up the trophy and a cheque for $810,000 at his home city tournament, finishing on a 24-under-par 260 after a closing 66.

De Jonge was a shot back with a 67, while Jonas Blixt of Sweden was third on a 20-under 264, finishing with a disappointing 70.

The trio were front-running through the tournament and went off together in the final group.

Ultimately De Jonge paid the price for parring all the way home after making birdie at the long 13th hole, while Moore putted a birdie chance at the 16th to go to the top of the leaderboard on his own, which is where he stayed after making par at 17 and 18.
