BOXING: Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather have shown they can do well by themselves, but talk has swung back to prospects of a showdown between the world's two best pound-for-pound boxers.
Since talks broke off earlier this year over Pacquiao's refusal to agree to Mayweather's demands for an Olympic-style drug testing, Mayweather beat Shane Mosley and Pacquiao beat Ghana's Joshua Clottey -- and then won a Congress election back home in the Philippines.
"That's the fight people want to see. I'm going to do my hardest to make it happen," said promoter Bob Arum.
Meanwhile, Irish prospect Jamie Kavanagh is promising fireworks on his pro debut at Madison Square Garden.
The Dubliner said: "The plan is to make the most of the occasion and to get my professional career off to a winning start."
