Leinster trio net semi spots

It was a generally good weekend for the Leinster schools with Presentation Bray, St Fintan's High School and Templeogue College all progressing to the semi-finals tournament of the All-Ireland Under 19A League, writes Rory Kerr.

Bray, who travelled to Cork, began their campaign with a resounding 80-35 win over Abbey Vocational school, with Marc Lennon the key link-up man, with four of the Bray squad in double figures.

Pres Bray carried their excellent form into their next game with Lorcan Murphy (32 points) making a series of acrobatic dunks to see Bray to an easy 99-32 win over St Clements College from Limerick with Andy Bartley (16pts) and Luke Gorman (12pts) also prominent.

Their remaining game with Douglas CS, which would decide the seeding for the semis, saw an injury-hit Bray side surrender an 11-point half-time lead with Bartley, Murphy and Lennon all forced to sit out the majority of the second half as a resurgent Douglas team pushed on to win on a 65-49 scoreline.

Bray now join Templeogue College, St Fintan's and Ard Scoil Rathangan in the next round, the latter qualifying at the expense of St Paul's Raheny.
