Killester's sights fixed on double

Killester United put the first part of a possible league and cup double on the board when claiming the Major Saturday 1C title on Saturday.

United got the better of Earl Celtic by three goals to nil and, coupled with Greystones United defeat against Newbridge Town, this meant that the Haddon Park club was crowned as champions.

The second part of the double will be down for decision on Tuesday, May 21st, when United take on Swords Celtic in the re-fixed Tynan Cup final in Market Green, Balbriggan.

There will be no cover charge on the night for this final, which was abandoned a week ago due to injury to a Killester player.

Joey's await Killester in Gilligan semi-final

Killester United's next step in their bid for a treble will take them across the Liffey to meet St Joseph's Boys in the semi-final of the Gilligan Cup.

United, who are also in pursuit of the Senior 1A title and the Moore Cup, take on a Saints side that they have already beaten on two occasions in the league.

In the second semi-final, Beggsboro will play host to Pegasus/St James Athletic in yet another all-Senior 1A tie, ensuring the third tier's domination of this competition.

Gilligan Cup semi-finals: Beggsboro v Pegasus/St. James; St. Joseph's Boys v Killester United.
