Killester aim to exorcise Demons

UCC Demons can further strengthen their title challenge away to 11890 Killester in the Nivea For Men's SuperLeague, while UCD Marian will be looking to maintain their good form at home to Bord Gais Neptune.

Belfast Star's search for their first win of the campaign continues at home to UL Eagles, while on Sunday, DCU Saints take on Moycullen.

In the Women's SuperLeague, unbeaten UL host Waterford Wildcats, while capital duo, DCU Mercy and Killester, face tricky assignments against Liffey Celtics and Singleton Super Valu Brunell respectively.

Elsewhere, Ulster Rockets welcome Oblate Dynamos, while Meteors face a tough proposition against Team Montenotte Hotel.

UCC Demons made it three wins from three last weekend, but the manner of their 76-65 win away to an in-form DCU Saints will have sent out a serious signal to their title rivals.

However, despite the win, head coach Paul Kelleher believes his side are not the finished article as they prepare to face reigning champions 11890 Killester. "We still have a few cracks in the armour which were exposed by DCU, and we will need to get that right before this game or we will be punished again like we were in the last quarter," he said.

Influential

UCD Marian are beginning to show their pre-season form after collecting three points in comfortable fashion against Moycullen in their last outing.

This weekend they face Neptune, and will have to do so without the influential Dan James, who could be out for up to six weeks with a torn hamstring.

In the Nivea Women's Superleague, UL could be without Michelle Fahy as they look to extend their extraordinary league run without a loss at home to Waterford Wildcats.

The league champions are unbeaten since November 2010, and are rightly considered favourites to retain the crown.

Michelle Fahy looks certain to miss the tie as she continues her comeback from a hamstring injury.
