International Open taking big time back to Dublin

ROLL out the red carpet -- big time pitch and putt is coming back to Dublin.

The second Irish International Pitch and Putt Open will take place here in April.

It will see some of the best players arrive in the capital for what should be a memorable weekend.

RGSC will stage the action from April 23-25.

The course is well used to hosting big events.

The tournament will further enhance the profile of the sport.

Ireland has played a huge role in helping to improve the game's stature as an international discipline.

The focus of the pitch and putt, and indeed the wider media will now be on the gala RGSC spectacular.

One hundred and eight players will tee-off in the 54-hole competition. They will include 10 representatives from each of the FIPPA Associations.

The weekend will begin with a practice round on April 23rd. The following day the competitors will play 36 holes.

The conclusion will come on the Sunday with 18 holes and the closing ceremony.

Pitch and putt officials are already predicting that the Open will do wonders for the sport.
