THE Dublin ladies are in the Top Twenty for life. They cemented their stature as Queens of the sport as they collected their 20th Inter-County title.
"They did so in very difficult conditions. It was an outstanding performance, and we are all very proud of them," declared Keith Redmond, PRO of the Dublin Board.
It was appropriate that Sheelagh Elmes holed the decisive putt. Along with Ger Ward, she plays for Pormarnock, who hosted the Championships in such splendid style.
Elmes and Ward brought valuable experience to the side, as did Maree O'Toole and Siobhan Keely.
But it was the displays of the new girls in Blue, Linda Thompson and Helen Greagsbey, that really captured the applause.
"It was a richly-deserved success for Dublin because when the pressure came, they responded," noted National PRO, Padraig O'Shea.
