CYCLING: Bogaerts believes the future bodes well for young Bennett

Sam Bennett was always going to aim for the dizzy heights on two wheels.

Year two and he has again signed for the An Post/Sean Kelly team.

Team manager Kurt Bogaerts is the first to admit that the Irish U23 Champion has had many ups and downs in the last number of years.

"I am delighted that Sam has signed for another season with us," said Bogaerts.

"He had a difficult start coming back from an injury from the previous year (2010), which took time to sort out.

"During the second half of this season, everything came together for him and he produced some great results, the highlight of which was his win at the GP van de Stad Geel.

"The 2012 season bodes well for him. I'm sure to have him fully fit from the start of the year and I really expect him to be one of the most important members of the team in 2012," Bogaerts added.
