Cup finals fever set to grip SDFL

THE NEXT three weekends will be filled with Cup Final fever as the SDFL brings down the curtain on another successful season with finals on the 12th, 19th and 26th of this month.

First up will see Rathcoole FC host a number of cup finals in their excellent Frank Cox Park facilities next weekend.

The following weekend, May 19th, will see the SDFL HQ in Ballyowen Park play host to two Under 14 finals, while on the 26th, all roads will lead to Tallaght Stadium as the Under 15 MMI and Under 16 John Giles finals are played.

It all makes for a hectic run in, so let's hope all runs smoothly.

Majestic Maher helps floor Rovers

A FANTASTIC midweek performance by Donnybrook Juniors in the Under 16 Premier Division saw them topple league leaders Ardmore Rovers.

Rovers were unbeaten in the league when they travelled to Beechill Park, but that was all undone on a rain-drenched night as they went down to a 3-1 defeat.

No stone was left unturned as the home side set about their business, with Jordan Maher starring in the middle of the park and Eoghan Connolly in defence.

Maher stole the show with two goals on the night, while Eoghan Neburagho also netted from the spot after Tony Fitzpatrick was taken down.

Appeal for Mini Marathon mums

BEECHWOOD FC are appealing to mums, friends and families to support and fundraise for both the Royal Hospital and Beechwood FC by running or walking the Flora Women's Mini Marathon (10K) on June 3rd at 2pm.

The Royal provide the club with the use of their grounds for training and matches and they are looking for as much support as they can get in order to raise the necessary funds to support the hospital and club. All funds raised will be split equally.

Giles the guest at Dalkey golf outing

DALKEY United's annual golf classic takes place on Friday, May 11th, in the Glen of the Downs Golf Club, where John Giles will be attending as a guest of honour and playing in the tournament.

The proceeds will go towards reducing the outstanding balance of the building loan taken out to renovate the club dressing rooms.

The cost for a team of four, including golf, dinner, and refreshments is €400. If you would like to enter, contact Marcus Coughlan on 087 0687523.
