Cricket cash for Pakistan fund

Proceeds from the Irish Senior Cricket Cup Final on Saturday will go towards Concern's Pakistan Emergency Flood Appeal.

The match between Railway Union and Merrion takes place at the North County Cricket Club in Balrothery, close to Balbriggan. The game begins at 11am and tickets can be bought at the gate.

Concern's regional director Lucia Ennis, who has just returned from Pakistan, said, "We are battling against time to deliver basic essentials to families who have lost everything. The money raised will go a long way, in getting urgent supplies of food, fresh drinking water and basic necessities to the thousands if not millions of men, women and children affected."

Beyonce video

row is settled

A lawsuit filed by a US man upset with the disruption from a Beyonce Knowles music video shoot was dismissed and settled.

A Los Angeles Superior Court judge dismissed Philip Markowitz's $25,000 suit against the Grammy-winning singer today.

Mr Markowitz's lawsuit alleged the shoot for Why Don't You Love Me had "shattered" his privacy and kept him from having access to his home in the Hollywood Hills neighbourhood.

He claimed the filming stretched until 11pm.
