Coyle and Lanigan finish out of the medals at Worlds

Natalya Coyle and Arthur Lanigan, runners-up in the World Cup finished just out just of the medals in the mixed relay at the World Modern Pentathlon Championships in Berlin.

Although the Irish pair finished second in the swimming, riding and combined run/shoot, a poor outing in the fencing dropped them to fourth place.

In the individual competition, London Olympian Natalya Coyle made the women's final where she finished 27th.

Her biggest points came in the fencing where she was 11th.

Although he finished 11th in his heat, Arthur Lanigan O'Keefe failed to accumulate enough points to make the final 36.

In the women's team relay, Sive Brassil and Kate Coleman Lenehan finished 12th. Their stand-out performance came in the horse riding discipline which they won. They were also sixth in the swim.

In the men's team relay, Tom O'Brien and Eanna Bailey finished 13th with their best event the horse riding where they were 3rd.
