Cork continue super streak

TOMORROW in Croke Park, Cork are going for the one-in-a-row. Remarkably, the Leeside pitch and putt Gents have made it eight Inter-County Championships on the bounce.

"After the foursomes, everybody was wondering would Cork relinquish their crown," reflected National Pitch and Putt PRO, Pádraig O'Shea.

"The big question was could they step up a gear and collect the Holy Grail yet again

"Then with clinical efficiency, the players went about the task and the large attendance could not but admire the sheer majesty of Cork's achievement."

The Cork Ladies also took gold. Dublin, the holders, also came in third. "Cork's victory was based on their excellent performance in the 18 holes Foursomes," noted Pádraig.

St Anne's course in Cork was a brilliant venue.

It was the perfect stage.
