DARTS: Martin Adams claimed his second BDO World title as he beat a tenacious Dave Chisnall 7-5 in the final.
The 53-year-old, who claimed his first title three years ago, was again victorious with a solid performance at the Lakeside.
Adams went 3-0 up before Chisnall fought back to take the fourth set, and shortly after the mid-session interval the scores were level at 4-4.
But Adams soon moved to 6-5 and won with double top.
Adams, who claimed the £100,000 winner's prize and a £3,000 bonus for the highest checkout of 170, scored in the final, said: "Dave's game is all about not letting go. He's like a dog with a bone. He maybe gave me a little too much rub of the green in the early sets but I'm happy with that, thanks Dave."
Worker killed by fire at Delhi site
ATHLETICS: One person has been killed and 12 hurt in a fire at the athletes's village being built for this year's Commonwealth Games in Delhi. The fire broke out in the residential quarters of on-site construction workers and comes soon after a rugby ground being built also caught fire.
Reports claim the blaze broke out when some workers lit a fire to make tea. It apparently then spread quickly because of the foam used to insulate the roofs of the workers' quarters.
SNOOKER: Jimmy White described his performance in his 6-2 Masters loss to Mark King as "sickening" after he went out in the first round at Wembley.
White, number 56 in the world, was given a wild card, but he said: "It was woeful. It was sickening to play like that.
"It's not like I didn't have any chances -- I had loads."
