Better putting in Mickelson sights

GOLF: Two-time champion Phil Mickelson has challenged himself to regain his putting touch when he returns to very familiar surrounds for this week's Phoenix Open at TPC Scottsdale.

Mickelson has been frustrated after striking the ball well in his first three PGA Tour events this year but hasn't made the most of his opportunities on the greens.

"It takes a lot of momentum out of you when you keep hitting it to eight, 10, 12 feet and you keep missing the putts," the world number three said in the build-up to tomorrow's first round in Arizona.

Australia's players have refused to commit to the tournament until issues raised in the report are addressed.

But a bullish Modi said: "We are going to have the tournament in India. I can't see any reason why we should move it at this point in time."
