An Post sponsor women's Rás

Hot on the heels of sponsoring the Rás, An Post has announced it will also offer financial support to the women's version, An Post Rás na mBan -- Ireland's top women's stage race -- which will take place from September 9-13.

Race organiser Valerie Considine has received inquiries from teams across the globe, and this year's event will again feature a mix of top professional and amateur riders.

Valerie said: "We've had calls from as far afield as Australia for this year's race, which is already shaping up to build on the success of last year's expansion from three to five days.

"The move to five days really captured the imagination and we've done a lot of work on a route that will give something for everyone and include sections made famous by Rás Tailteann, the Tour of Ireland and the Nissan Classic."
