Amateurs tee off to win chance to play the pros

Amateur golfers throughout Ireland are to be given the chance to play with some of the world's finest players at this year's 3 Irish Open Pro-Am in Killarney.

Tournament sponsors 3 have announced details of this year's star-studded Pro-Am event, which will take place on the eve of the prestigious 3 Irish Open over the August Bank Holiday weekend.

Four regional competitions will take place across the country in the coming months and the winning eight teams (men and women) will then get the chance to play with Europe's top golfers including Pádraig Harrington, Rory McIlroy, Sergio Garcia and Lee Westwood over the magnificent Killeen course in Killarney.

Clubs and players must register online at www.three.ie/pro-am before March 31. Last year's 3 Irish Open champion Shane Lowry is pictured above with Suzanne McCabe and Nicola Hughes at the launch.
