Nacewa set to ink one-year extension to stay with Blues

ISA Nacewa is to pen a one-year extension on his current contract to keep him at Leinster to the end of the 2013/2014 season.

"It is a case of no comment at the moment. We will be making a statement concerning our signings in the near future," said Leinster chief executive Mick Dawson this morning.

Nonetheless, it is believed that Nacewa's contract has been sorted amid further speculation that the IRFU are in the process of relaxing their previous announcement on the rigid limitation of position specific foreign players allotted to the Irish provinces.

This deal will be greeted with a huge sigh of relief by coach Joe Schmidt and the Leinster supporters, for whom Nacewa has become a cult figure with the chant of "Isa! Isa! Isa!" going out whenever Nacewa executes a wonder play.

The Aucklander has shunned the lure of greater financial reward to stay at the club where his wife Simone and three Irish-born girls are comfortably settled.
