Na Fianna set to welcome the Royals

ANOTHER big day on the Mobhi Road. Na Fianna at home to Seneschalstown of Meath in the semi-final of the Tesco Leinster Senior Club Championship next Sunday.

The Dubliners are expecting a test and a half. "They had a good win against Leixlip," remarks Na Fianna's Ray Dorney.

"Everytime you play at this level, you have to lift it again. You are meeting county champions all the time."

In the quarter-final, Na Fianna defeated Wexford's Shelmaliers in Glasnevin.

In this season's county final, Na Fianna overcame Foxrock Cabinteely

"That was a great final, and there's no doubt that the high standard in Dublin helps you when you go into Leinster." The Dublin final was played in July.

"Leinster was like a different season, but everybody stepped up against Shelmaliers. And I have to say the work-rate was incredible.

"We won by 2-15 to 0-7, but in the last five minutes, we were defending our goal as if we were two points down."

And Ray praised two in particular, the Dublin duo of Leah Caffrey and Lucy Collins. "I was delighted for the two of them. Dublin came so close to winning the All-Ireland the previous week.

"Yet they were super. It was a great credit to them."
