MFCU ensure Tarf don't lack credit

CLONTARF are busy preparing for life in Division 2 of the AFL. Last term, they won Division 3.

Noel McCaffrey is the manager. One of Dublin's finest centre half-backs. The All-Star has brought top coach, Mick Bohan, onto his management ticket, and Noel says the aim this season is to consolidate.

Tarf have fond memories of 1985 when they reached the Dublin SFC final, losing to the crack Ballymun side.

Today, there's a river of talented young players coming through the ranks, and the senior team are being sponsored by the Member First Credit Union.

They have branches in Artane, Northside Shopping Centre and Swords. Clontarf PRO, Ronan Gallagher, says the sponsorship is a timely boost as Tarf gear up for the demands of Division 2.

Overall, the club is thriving. The sod at their base in St Anne's Park is top-class, and Tarf have an all-weather surface at their HQ on Seafield Road.
