McGeady for Everton

AIDEN McGEADY now looks a racing certainty to sign for Everton while Wes Hoolahan has handed in a transfer request in a bid to force Norwich City to sell him to Aston Villa.

Toffees boss Roberto Martinez has been tracking McGeady for several years and according to reports in Moscow has signed the Ireland international on a pre-contract.

McGeady is available on a free contract in June and is anxious to return to these shores after falling out with Spartak Moscow coach Valery Karpin.

Meanwhile, Hoolahan (pictured left) finally lost patience with Norwich late last week and submitted a transfer request after an offer of £1.5m from Villa boss Paul Lambert was rejected.

"I've identified players that might help, because we're a really young side as everybody knows. If we can add some experience along the line then we'll try," said Lambert.

"I'm like any other manager who will want to try and improve it. If we can bring one or two in, whether it's permanent or loans, it's something I'll try and do."
