Masters ready to showcase their talents in Dalkey duels

EPEE fencing master Igor Sikker makes a return visit to Ireland on the weekend of March 7/8 for an international training camp in Loreto Dalkey.

Sikker is joined by his star pupil, the brilliant and entertaining Falk Spautz, currently world ranked No 30. Also coming to Ireland are seven junior German epee fencers.

Coaches and fencers are welcome for the epee sessions, a sabre session conducted by local fencer David Couper and foil training day run by Katie Arup from Northern Ireland. Fencers must have two to three years experience of the sport and places are limited. Book your place at www.irishfencing.net

Winning the epee titles at the East of Ireland Open, hosted by UCD, were UCD pair John Wright and Kate Coleman Lenehan, also a modern pentathlete.

Pembroke's Conor Nagle and Joana Ramalho won the men and women's foil, while Stephen Concannon and Szabina Matyas, both of Salle Dublin, proved best in the sabre.
