THIS year's Leinster Minor Boys Cup is shaping up nicely after a dramatic final week before the midterm break.

Beaten finalists last year St MacDara's CS, Templeogue are up and running after a 3-2 victory against Tallaght CS.

Goals from Evan Dunne, Mark Kelly and Ryan Murphy sent their side into a last-64 clash with heavyweight Clonkeen College - who beat St Mark's CS 3-2.

Looking even further down the line, the winner of that clash will face the successful side from Drimnagh Castle's game with Collinstown Park CC.

Back-to-back First Year Cup winners in 2012 and 2013, Coláiste Phadráig CBS, beat Confey College 4-1 to advance.

Yasser Mahrouk, Liam Treacy, Stephen Curley and Tope Ositelu scored.

Local rivals Lucan CC face Coláiste Eanna CBS for the right to take on Phadraig.

Another two teams into the second round, despite opening-day losses, are Salesian College and Portmarnock CS.

Playing overage players retrospectively cost Moate Community School and Donahies CS their places in the next round
