Legends spectacle to grace Glasnevin

THE Mobhi Road will be dancing on Saturday for the Camogie Legends. It's the fifth year of the tournament that honours the late Tipperary icon, Biddy Phillips.

The Croke Park Hotel are the sponsors. Tipp are the holders. They beat Dublin in last year's final.

Counties from all the country take part in the 7-a-side format. Camogie president, Aileen Lawlor says: "it's a great social occasion for players." Aileen herself was a top player. She proved it last year when she overcame flu to line out for the Dubs and scored a picture goal.

Patsy Murphy and Louise Lynch managed Dublin. Clare Donohoe was the captain.

Her team-mates included Aoife Cullen, Mia Tobin, Sonya Byrne, Valerie Reaney, Fiona Corcoran, Noelle Comyn, Trish Hale, Eve Talbot, Sile Nic Coitir, Trish Clinton and Gillian McCluskey.

The action takes place on the eve of Sunday's AIB All-Ireland Club Championship finals in Croke Park.

The Intermediate final (1.30) is between Piltown (Kilkenny) and Lismore (Waterford), while the senior final (3.15) sees Mullagh (Galway) play Wexford's Oulart The Ballagh.
