GIOVANNI TRAPATTONI claims that he is ready to trust James McCarthy and and change the way Ireland play. The only question now is whether he means it.
"After three games against Serbia, Kazakhstan and Oman, I know I can trust James McCarthy," said Trapattoni.
Trapattoni has already picked ten of the players he will need against Germany in the Aviva on October 12 and is now mulling over whether he uses McCarthy or, as he has done in the past, another striker as the extra man.
"I don't have 11 players picked in my head yet but I'm clear about how we can play. I have ten players in my mind but I need to decide on one more."
Trapattoni all but ruled Richard Dunne out of the German game. "It is very difficult but we have added his name," said Trap.
"I was in touch with him. He said he thinks it will be very, very difficult but maybe miracles can happen."
